Supply Change.TM

North America’s leader in supply chain solutions

CHEP was founded more than 60 years ago. Since then, we’ve helped more companies move more goods, to more places, more efficiently and more sustainably than anyone else in the world.

We are a company of supply chain experts and engineers, and we’ve been in literally tens of thousands of supply chains. Bringing that unmatched experience to bear we’ve created a suite of pragmatic, actionable and affordable solutions that can make your supply chain quantifiably better. No one has more solutions to help you move things in, out and through your supply chain.

We’re here to work with you.

Our job is simple: to help you move more with less. We can help you decrease your costs and your carbon footprint. We can help you in over 60 countries.

Because we have the world’s widest range, greatest supply and the greatest consistency of supply chain platforms such as pallets, reusable plastic containers, and specialized containers, we can provide you with the right platform at the right time at the right price. So you can always move what you need to move when, where and how you need to, no matter what.

We’ve been at the heart of more supply chains.

We know supply chains. We’ve seen more than anyone, all around the world. In every shape and size. So, we know what makes them tick.  And we know how to roll up our sleeves and find efficiencies. We know how to root out inefficiencies. We know how to overcome obstacles—large and small—and make things work, so your supply chain works better.

A global perspective like no one else’s.

We’ve seen, examined, improved and learned from supply chains on six continents. From our comprehensive view we’ve gained insights no one else has. As the world leader in platforms and supply chain solutions, we understand when a new idea in one supply chain can be applied elsewhere. To everyone’s benefit. We’ve learned that good isn’t good enough. Our engineers and supply chain experts are always looking for more. More innovation. More efficiency. More value. More. For you.

We move goods in countries with 90% of the world’s GDP and 70% of its population.

Consistent platform quality and supply.

At CHEP, not only do we maintain North America’s largest and broadest supply of quality conveyance platforms, we have the transportation needed to get those platforms to you when you need them. We have long experience in meeting our customers’ demand and we can move our huge inventory across markets to serve your needs, eliminating your vulnerability to short supply.

We’re committed to continuously increasing the quality of our shipping platforms to mitigate product damage throughout the supply chain.  Through ongoing testing of our platforms inside our Innovation Center, we analyze and integrate new materials and manufacturing processes.  As we increase the quality of our pool, our platforms can be shared more often by more manufacturers and retailers, to further reduce the impact of their supply chains on the environment.

Greater resources to serve your needs.

In all of North America, no one has a network as extensive as CHEP’s. We have over 45,000 transportation lanes, 400 facilities, 20,000 customer touch-point locations and hundreds of distribution points across the US and Canada. Our immense network of lanes, facilities and customers, enables us to better manage our nationwide pool and find more overlaps with your network to identify and help you lower transportation costs, add revenue, improve network efficiencies or even leverage your transportation network to reduce the cost of your pallets.

A deep commitment to Global Good.

Since we were founded we have adhered to a set of core beliefs that sets us apart. Our beliefs inform everything we do. We believe in a Better Planet. So we aim to minimize our impact on the environment through continuous improvement. We send zero wood-waste to landfill, are committed to a 20% reduction in GHG emissions by FY15, and promote renewable resources and 100% controlled wood.

We build Better Business through our sustainable business model and we help our customers become more sustainable, too. Collaborating closely with our customers, our transportation solutions and collaborative freight help manufacturers and retailers eliminate millions of empty miles each year and thousands of metric tons of CO2.

Finally, we care about building Better Communities. We contribute actively and positively to the communities in which we operate. Each year, we contribute more than $2M to serve those in need throughout the United States. Since 2013, CHEP employees have donated 2,880 hours of their volunteer time across 102 charities.

Increasing safety throughout the supply chain.

At CHEP, we’re committed to achieving Zero Harm—zero environmental damage and zero injuries in the workforce. In everything we do, we consider the health, safety and environmental impact of our actions and decisions. Further, our Innovation Center assesses the health and safety impact of each product in development.

We’re committed to providing and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment and to preventing injuries or illness to our employees, customers, suppliers, contractors and the community. Safety always comes first. Always.

To achieve this we:

  • Continuously improve our safety systems
  • Monitor and measure our safety performance
  • Ensure relevant regulatory requirements are met or exceeded
  • Provide training programs which enable employees to fulfill their personal and corporate responsibilities for safety, health and the environment
  • Provide and maintain a safe work environment through a consultative and proactive approach to risk management
  • Sustain systems that minimize waste, conserve resources and protect the environment
  • Benchmark best practices in safety internally and externally and empower employees to apply learning's locally
  • Recognize excellence in safety performance.

The power of innovation.

Innovation can change everything. It can help reduce damage, cut costs, reduce corrugate and improve sustainability. Driving innovation is a big part of everything we do at CHEP.

Only CHEP combines the expertise of our experienced engineers, state-of-the-art software and access to testing at CHEP’s ISTA-certified Innovation Center. The Innovation Center is our way to make sure your unit loads are optimized, your packaging meets the needs your business and your customers. And we’ll make sure everything works in the real world. We’ll simulate distribution hazards associated with handling operations, warehouse stacking, transportation and atmospheric conditions. We’ll also look at the impact of transportation, forklifts, automated systems, manual handling and environmental conditions.

We’ve tested thousands of unit loads and packaging options for some of the largest companies in North America. Our Innovation Center is certified by the International Safe Transit Association — representing manufacturers, packaging suppliers, testing labs and carriers working together to ensure responsible packaging.

The customers we serve.

Around North America and throughout the globe, CHEP works with our customers every day to create smart, cost-effective supply chain solutions. First and foremost, we listen to our customer’s needs. We understand their goals and objectives and then we seek to provide practical advice and services tailored to their specific needs. We’re proud to serve over 300,000 customers from every corner of the world—from owner-operators to multinational corporations, across a broad range of industries. Here’s just a small sample of some of our customers:

Our history.

The enterprise that grew into CHEP began in Australia more than 60 years ago during World War II. Then the job of successfully conveying mission critical goods to their destination was of paramount importance.

During those days, we learned to do whatever it takes to anticipate and fulfill the needs and demands of the world’s most complex supply chains.  What we began back then, we continue to improve today: through collaboration, innovation, consistency and scale, we have the experience, solutions, and best practices to optimize every leg, node and nuance within our customers’ supply chain.

In fact, in more than 60 countries, we successfully and efficiently make more than 3 million equipment moves per day. From point of production to point of purchase, our 300 million pallets and containers move, store, protect and deliver our customers’ goods. Efficiently. Sustainably. Safely.

Of course, CHEP is more than just pallets. We have the industry’s widest array of supply chain solutions. These include Platform Solutions comprised of the world’s broadest spectrum of pallets (pooled, recycled, new, fractional, custom and international) as well as RPCs and containers. We also are on hand with System-Wide solutions, Manufacturing and Warehouse Solutions, Transportation Solutions, International Solutions, Distribution Center Solutions, Store Fulfillment Solutions and more. The fact is, whatever you need to optimize your network at whatever point in your Supply Chain, CHEP will work with you to develop a solution that will help you meet your goals.

Further, CHEP has the experience you value in a partner. Not only are we larger than all of our competitors combined, we’ve also collaborated with some of the globe’s most demanding companies. We have decades-long relationships with some of the most-recognizable companies in the Fortune 500.

When you work with CHEP, you’re doing more than helping your company, you’re also helping the world. CHEP has been a leader in sustainability efforts since the very advent of pallet pooling. We also promote the use of 100% renewable resources in our platforms and return zero wood-waste to landfills. Combined these lead to a 20% reduction in CO2 emissions and a similar decrease in water consumption. As part of our Better Planet initiative, we will bring our sustainability expertise and experience to your company to minimize the impact of the supply chain on the environment.

Finally, the nearly 6,000 women and men of CHEP are proud to be a part of the communities in which they live and work. During the last decade alone, we’ve donated both time and monies to a variety of community initiatives. Around the world, CHEP employees have contributed thousands of hours and millions of dollars to make the world a better place.

We look forward to working with you and working in your community.
