Making a difference for diversity and your business.

The opportunity

For most companies today, having a supplier diversity program is not only "the right thing to do," it's an imperative. Changing demographics and customer mandates have led to the realization that supplier diversity is more than a social responsibility - it's a strong driver of business value.

Supplier diversity is a key focus at CHEP. We aim to be our customers' supplier of choice, to utilize diverse suppliers within our supply chain and to bring value to our customers by helping them create and enhance their own supplier diversity programs. We believe the success of a supplier diversity culture, which strengthens your company's relationship with women - and minority-owned businesses, adds to your success and to that of the communities and customers we serve.

Over the years, we've committed substantial resources to implementing our world-class supplier diversity program, increasing our spending by over $60 million since 2010. By 2017, it's projected we'll spend in excess of $100 million with diverse suppliers. As a result, we've gained extensive experience and learning. And we've developed offerings we can share with you, your customers and your suppliers to help you achieve - and surpass - your supplier diversity goals. To help your business relationships with retailers. To help you build brand preference with consumers. And to help you positively influence your suppliers and the communities we serve.

What we do

We'll collaborate with you to make your supplier diversity program work for your company and for the community. We can help you optimize the program you already have in place. Or we can help you create a new supplier diversity initiative. As leaders in supplier diversity, we'll even set up a turnkey program and manage it for you. We can also help your suppliers set up their program to support yours.

In each case, we'll make sure you get the metrics and data you need to meet your supplier diversity goals.

If you're setting up a new program, our highly experienced supplier diversity team can help optimize your program through consultancy and also help you implement best practices. We can assist you through seminars at your company or at industry events. We'll show you how to grow your program, spend, what tools to use to support programs and how metrics are created - driving qualitative methods for quantitative results.

How we'll work together

Whether you are starting a new supplier diversity program, have an existing program or want to optimize your current program through support from our experts, we can:

  • Identify your goals and metrics
  • Help you share best practices through internal seminars and collaborative sessions
  • Report direct and indirect spend to you when and how you need it, using the tools and technology you require
  • Identify spend with all suppliers within the requested reporting window
  • Identify any shared suppliers that can also be a direct spend for you
  • Help your suppliers set up and manage their own supplier diversity programs

How you'll benefit

We have the experience to design a supplier diversity program that can help you:

  • Strengthen your company's relationship with rapidly growing communities and businesses
  • Show your customers that you are aligned with their diversity objectives
  • Differentiate your company from your competitors and provide a new mode and method to engage new customers

Global Good

Implementing a world-class supplier diversity program is another way CHEP helps build Better Communities around the country and around the world. Over the past four years, we've committed substantial resources to building such programs. In fact, since 2010, we've increased our supplier diversity spend by well over $60 million, and we aim to increase that spend to over $100 million by 2017. We look forward to sharing with you the offerings we've helped develop, so you can achieve and even exceed your supplier diversity goals.
